ABOUT NAKIYAGA MOUREEN MARGARET.

This is a 9year old girl who lives with her Aunt (a sister to her father), both her parents live in villages and they are separated.  They live in different villages.

Her aunt got her from her father and promised him that she will be sponsoring her to go to school and this was when she was 3years old, She sent her to Nakivubo Blue primary school where she studied till the first term of 2013, this means she has been not studying for 2years now. The girl said that the children of her aunt all studies and this proved to us that the problem isn’t money to pay her fees but she doesn’t receive some favors at home.    {That’s what Zubeda (group member) got from her interview with the girl.}

We couldn’t believe in the girl’s words because she is young and we decided to meet her Aunt to know more about what the girl had told us though we couldn’t tell her all as we were told by the girl.

When Zubeda told us about this girl’s story, we made an urgent meeting and we discussed about the girl and we all confirmed that this girl needed our help and we went to meet the Aunt of this girl, as we were going to meet her, the girl was so scared and this proved to us that the girl isn’t living a comfortable life at home because she over feared her aunt.

We met with the Aunt and this was a great challenge to overcome. U think why?  Read more.

We first greeted the lady and we introduced ourselves, we told her that we could like to catch up with her to help the girl go back to school; The Aunt replied what scared all of us “Wuuyo mumuyambe.   She is there you help her”

We went out of words coz we had nothing to add on such words, we just looked to each other talking in small voices planning what’s next, we got confidence and we talked to her in a very detailed not brief way and after a time we agreed with her and we accepted that Maureen will be joining Hosanna Primary School the next term when we are prepared. We thought everything had gone as we had wished but we were wrong, Guess why?  Because that night the Aunt got an electricity wire and punished the girl….When I talked to the girl, she told me that “I want to go back to my parents” but this is beyond our ability and we do not have any responsibility to this girl but that is not worthy leaving her in a non-comfortable living.

Immediately when we knew about this, we called an immediate meeting and we all had the same decision which was to quit helping her but it was a meeting that we never had a chance to think much about our decisions...  Later in our Sunday meeting, we brought this issue to our meeting and we discussed about it with the entire group members some who never had a chance to join us in the immediate meetings, we all felt touched and we decided that we shall help her no matter what.

The result of our meeting was that yes we goner help her and she will be joining Hosanna Primary School to help her brighten the future of this girl.

If you have any scholastic material or any portion of the fees or any help you can promise us, we shall be gratefully to hear from you.
